How are cases of BPH managed with Homeopathy?

In management field of BPH, Classical Homeopathy is a top level player. Many medicines are there to tackle such cases; medicines like Conium, Causticum, Staphisagria, Thuja occ., Tuberculinum are all capable of managing chronic patients most effectively. I would narrate a case of chronic patient  below:

Case Record 1:

Mr. A. Bishnu, a retired professor of 62 yrs, came to my chamber and presented the following symptoms:

1)For last 1 yr. or so he had been suffering from burning in urethra with leaking of urine;

2)As days passed by, the incontinence was increasing.

3)Sometimes, urge was so imminent that clothes got soiled; urinary flow intermittent;

4)Recently he had been suffering from a strange type vertigo (reeling of head) only when lying down, moving head slightly, even moving eyes too; to avoid he must be absolutely still.

4)Produced a USG of lower abdomen which confirmed the case to be BPH;

5)Also produced a report on PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) in blood which showed a slight increase above normal;

Patient’s make-up and Personal History:

Spending an almost idle life without slightest outdoor work; no addiction of any sort; did not take any breasfast or light refreshment in evening, just took lunch and supper with chapattis and light chicken curry almost every day; he had been always very fond of chicken. Took about 1L. water a day.

Physical Generals:

1)He feels good while on fast;

2)He used to masturbate throughout his life to release internal pressure;

1st prescription:

Conium mac. 0/1, 12 doses in 120 ml. distilled water; to be taken one dose in the morning empty stomach;

Advice:

He has to follow the following diet and regimen strictly:

1)Minimize taking chicken as far as possible  immediately;

Review: 3 weeks after;

Follow Up:

The patient reported before time, at the end of 2nd week; he was very happy because he felt a nice feeling within though his urinary problem worsened; his vertigo problem gone. He was given a few doses of supporting placebo and was advised not to be so excited because during treatment of chronic disease, very often situation might change to worse even; she was requested to come after 2 weeks; meanwhile , all advices to be followed strictly.

Mr.Bishnuy was treated with higher doses of the same medicine up to 0/10. He got all round improvement of his health. There were few attack of spells urinary trouble which were ultimately subsided; he was doing well.

How can BPH be prevented?

BPH is a disease of old age; there is no definite way of its prevention. It attacks both unmarried and married persons. However, it is stated, there are certain ‘Asanas’  which helps maintain Prostate health; readers discretion is requested in this regard. However, active habits with lower abdominal exercises and avoidance of over indulgence of sex appear to go to a large extent in its prevention.
